2020 PROGRAMS
We have not yet opened our 2020 programs. Check back in spring for further details.
Email programs@backtothesea.ca for any programming inquiries. Make a day of it! We know it can be tricky to plan an outing for a group of kids! We want to help make it as easy as possible. To make the most of your outing, our program guide suggests activities within walking distance of the Touch Tank Hut, many of which are free. There are also many indoor and outdoor locations for lunch! |

CONFERENCES AND OTHER EVENTS
|
We are currently unsure whether 2020 events will be possible for Back to the Sea. Check back in late spring for updates.
Please send your booking inquiries to info@backtothesea.ca. |
Standard Setup
We typically show up to events with the following:
- One touch tank filled with local intertidal species (e.g. sea stars, urchins, snails, mussels, hermit crabs, etc.)
- One sandy-bottom tank showcasing moon snails, clams and sand dollars (we do not guarantee all these species)
- A variety of naturalized specimens with magnifying glasses for close-up observations
- Plush toys
Our knowledgeable and passionate volunteers remain with the touch tanks to interpret the animals and engage with visitors.
Short presentations may also be offered.
If you have a specific idea in mind, please do not hesitate to contact us. If it supports our mission and values, we will do what we can to accomodate!
Cost
Cost is dependent on the type of event and its location. The standard fee for a 2-3 hour event within 30mins of Downtown Dartmouth is $500.
As a charitable organization, we do our best to keep costs to a minimum. All booking payments are invested back into the Society. Payments and donations are used to better our current programming or are put towards the future creation of the Back to the Sea Aquarium.
If you are a non-profit, we will consider doing your event for a reduced fee if our resources allow it.
