Classroom Workshops
|
We are now booking school workshops throughout June in schools around Halifax and Dartmouth!
Please send your booking inquiries to info@backtothesea.ca. |
Standard Setup
We typically show up to workshops with the following:
- One touch tank filled with local intertidal species (e.g. sea stars, urchins, snails, mussels, hermit crabs, etc.)
- A variety of naturalized specimens with magnifying glasses for close-up observations
- Plush toys
Our knowledgeable and passionate staff remain with the touch tanks to interpret the animals and engage with visitors.
Short presentations may also be offered.
If you have a specific idea in mind, please do not hesitate to contact us. If it supports our mission and values, we will do what we can to accommodate!
Cost
Cost is dependent on the type of event and its location. The standard fee for a 1 hour workshop within 30mins of Downtown Dartmouth is $250.
As a charitable organization, we do our best to keep costs to a minimum. All booking payments are invested back into the Society. Payments and donations are used to better our current programming or are put towards the Back to the Sea Centre.
If you are a non-profit, we will consider doing your event for a reduced fee if our resources allow it.
